How To Make Baked Brie With Honey: Step-By-Step
Here are some quick visual instructions. Remember that full instructions with the exact ingredients are in the printable recipe card:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350℉. Place the brie cheese into a small baking dish or cast iron skillet. Using a sharp knife, create subtle cuts on top of the wheel of cheese making sure not to cut too deep. About 4-5 cuts tp create a grid pattern.

Step 2: Drizzle the top with honey and sprinkle the thyme. Arrange the rosemary sprigs around the wheel to infuse flavor while it bakes.

Step 3: Bake the cheese for 10 minutes. Add the chopped nuts on top and bake until it is soft and melted, about 5-10 minutes more. Let it cool slightly before serving it warm with a baguette, crackers, or vegetables.
Recipe Tips
- Be strategic when cutting the top of the brie into a grid pattern. This process is what allows the flavors to infuse and makes it easier to scoop. If you cut all through the brie, the cheese will leak out. So, take care when making shallow cuts.
- Serve it immediately after baking (letting it cool for a couple of minutes is alright) as that's when it tastes best. If it has a chance to cool too much, simple reheat it briefly in the microwave.
Confidence Tip
To keep the brie warm throughout serving, use a baking dish that retains heat like an oven-safe skillet or ceramic dish.
Variations
One of the best parts about a dish like this is that there are multiple ways to customize re recipe:
- Holiday Festive: Sprinkle some fresh cranberries on or around the brie before you bake it for a pop of color.
- Jam: In place (or in addition to) the drizzled honey, you could top the brie with a bright jam for a pop of new flavor. Personally, my favorite is a baked brie with fig jam.
- Hot Honey: For a spicy kick to your appetizer, try using hot honey in place of regular honey.
How To Serve Baked Brie
Below are some ingredients that pair well with baked brie. In addition to any of the following, make sure to place a cheese knife on the side of the platter:
- Sliced baguette
- Crackers
- Grapes
- Crisp carrots
- Sliced apples
- Za'atar Pita Chips

Frequently Asked Questions
It's optional but better if you leave it on. The rind helps hold the melted cheese together so that it doesn't spread too much. If you decide to remove it, make sure to peel it off while the brie is cold and cook the brie in a smaller dish as it will change shape quite a bit.
It should be very gooey when cooked. If you touch the center, it will feel soft and like it's about to collapse.

Ingredients
- 8 oz Brie cheese
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2-3 fresh rosemary sprigs
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoon walnuts chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉.
- Place the Brie cheese in a small baking dish or cast iron skillet.
- Using a sharp knife, create subtle cuts on top of the wheel without going in too deep. Make about 4-5 cuts to create a grid pattern.
- Drizzle the cheese with honey, and then sprinkle the thyme over the top. Arrange the rosemary sprigs around the cheese.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Top the cheese with the nuts and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the Brie is soft and nicely melted.
- Let cool slightly. Serve warm.
Notes
Bake the cheese just until soft and slightly melted in the center. Overbaking can cause it to lose its shape.
Use fresh rosemary for aroma and color, and toast the walnuts lightly if you prefer extra crunch.
Serve warm with Za'atar Pita Chips, crackers, or sliced baguette.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. Reheat gently in the oven at 325°F until warm.
