It's Sunday and that means it's time for a NEW Sunday Thymes! Today, we are sharing what's new on the blog, some fun finds, and what we've been up to! Please leave a comment if you have any questions or just want to say hi, we love hearing from you.

We came back from NYC and rolled right into the Jewish holidays....
What's Happening
When I wrote last week's email, I wrote it a bit early since we were traveling on Thursday out to New York. Hubby and the boys originally had tickets to the Ryder Cup, but he decided to sell them. It was a wise decision given the traffic and security surrounding the event.
We still went to NY so we could spend the weekend with the kids, and we stayed out on Long Island at my daughter-in-law's family home on the North Fork. Their home is nestled amidst farms and vineyards. The beach is just a short walk and it was gorgeous.
The flight getting out to NY was interesting to say the least. We were actually mid-air more than halfway to NY when the pilot announced that we were turning around and going back to Chicago. Apparently, the plane couldn't fly through storms, so we needed a new plane, we boarded a different plane in Chicago as soon as we landed and then flew back out again. It was a loooong day of travel!
We had a quick brunch with my cousin at Barney Greengrass the following morning before heading out to Long Island.
We visited a winery, went out to dinner, made dinner one night, and had a chance to relax and enjoy the kids and the scenery. We found the best coffee shop that reminded me of the television show "The Jetsons"! One evening, we got back to their home only to find three wild turkeys roaming their backyard, which was hilarious!
After arriving home on Sunday, I started prepping for Break the Fast, which is the culmination of Yom Kippur. Of course we had the typical lox and bagels; however, I chose to also make the Challah Baked French Toast, the Bundt Noodle Kugel, an egg casserole with spinach, onions, cheese, and herbs, as well as what I call my "garbage salad" which is a salad without lettuce and the veggies get a quick marinade. It's yummy and if you want a recipe just reach out. It's not yet on my website.
