I missed sending this newsletter to you last week as I was in Las Vegas attending the Tastemakers Conference and the Fancy Food Show! Both were wonderful experiences. Hubby and I went out a few days early before everything started so we could "play" just a bit.
What's Happening
We flew to Vegas on Friday and Friday night we went to the Sphere to see the Eagles play in concert. If you have a chance, and like the Eagles, this was the best concert I have ever been gone to. Top that off with the Sphere and the show that is cast onto the screens and you have the best of the best. There are so many speakers in the Sphere that the sound was incredible. You could hear the lead singers and all of the words!
On Saturday we also went to see Shin Lim. He is the magician who won America's Got Talent twice. Great show and another that I highly recommend. In between the two shows we walked the strip, went to the famous Pawn Shop that is on t.v. (don't ask), and rode a gondola at the Venetian. All of it was really fun!
My conference started on Sunday, and after registration, I had a chance to walk the floor of the Fancy Food Show. It was soooo amazing! Every booth had tastings, I had a chance to connect with vendors that I use on a regular basis, and I found a few new items that I can't wait to share throughout the year.
The Tastemaker Conference is yearly and brings together food bloggers in a space where we can collaborate, learn, and share. The trainings were terrific and spanned a range from Pinterest to photography with SEO and more thrown in. There is a lot to learn about what I do and I cannot wait until next year to do it again.
The best part of the weekend was meeting my Mastermind group in person. We have regular Friday morning meetings and help each other learn and grow. Food Blogging is a lonely profession but having a great group like I do helps to keep the fun going.
I traveled back home overnight on Tuesday and have been hard at work on the blog. We are headed out next week to our Hawaii home so I wanted to make sure I have everything done that I cannot do out there.
Links And Products I Am Loving
- Okay, I can't stop watching the Panda Cam. How about you?
- If you are looking for a new hobby to do this winter, here is a list of hobbies that may help.
- Here in the Midwest I haven't felt the effects of the egg shortage. I know that I probably will when we hit Hawaii next week. Are you affected?
- I read this article on how to be a good friend and thankfully I think I fit the mold.
- Girl Scout Cookies are here! This is a good ranking. I'm a thin mint gal! What is your favorite?
- Having been a chocolatier in my past, I love a good chocolate taste test. Bon Appetit did a taste test. I don't completely agree because they left a lot of brands out. But, here it is.
- Here are a couple of links to products I saw and loved at the Fancy Food Show (I will share more next week):
- Burlap & Barrel Spices - I use these daily and highly recommend them. My favorites are the cinnamon, peppercorns, and the Herbs de Provence.
- Butcher Box - I love their meat. It's grass-fed, grass-finished and delivered direct to my door.
- Souper Cubes - I have been using these since they came out years ago. They go from the refrigerator to the oven and come in a variety of sizes. They are indispensible!

Recipes
These past few weeks I have been working hard on developing chocolate recipes that are easy and gluten-free. I made chocolate bark in a variety of blends. These barks are simple and make a great gift for Valentine's Day or during the holidays!
