I hope you are celebrating with your father this weekend or with your family. My father passed away at and early age. My twins were four months old, which was 31 years ago.

I miss my father. He was an inspiration not only to my brother and I, but to many. He was always positive, funny, upbeat, and loved to play pranks on people. We were very close.
Father day is a day dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the contributions and sacrifices that fathers and father figures make for their families. It is an opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation for their role in raising and supporting their children.
I hope you celebrate and recognize those who are important in your life by acknowledging their role. We are having dinner with the kids that live in Chicago. I am thinking of serving my Cuban flank steak and my cold asparagus salad.
What's Happening
I went for a walk with a friend and this beautiful hawk flew out of a tree directly in front of us and then caught the wind and took off. It was gorgeous!
Last Sunday my husband and I decided to do a quick road trip. We drove up to Kenosha, WI. Kenosha has this little Italian grocery store that I love called Tenuta's.
We buy fresh cheese and gluten-free pasta. I always have to ignore the delicious looking desserts! They have aisles and aisles of some of the best beer and wine from all over the world. We also ate at a wonderful restaurant almost on Lake Michigan. We did hit the beach for a quick walk after lunch.
I found this amazing gluten-free pasta called Rummo. Rummo pasta, which I can find at Whole Foods, Amazon, and other shops, utilizes a slow-drying or "lenta" process, and should you be needing a last-minute Father's Day gift for the pasta-loving dad in your life, I think a few bags of Rummo would make a lovely gift.
Of course, on Saturday we went to the farmer's market. I love the market! Now I have to decide what I am going to make with all of these fabulous vegetables, like the beets and tomatoes that I bought!
After the market we always grab coffee for the ride back home! I'm a latte girl with coconut milk. What's your favorite drink?
