Holy cow.....the wildfires out in California are really devastating. My heart goes out to all of those who have lost their homes in this fire and I am praying that it gets under control fast. While I have never lived out there, I have family in California, but they are not in the L.A. area.
This is a terrific article on how to help the victims of these fires.
What's Happening
I don't know about you, but I feel like we are finally getting back into the swing of daily life. Our youngest son has still been home with us but he is leaving today to head back to Germany. There will be a huge hole in my heart when we say goodbye.
While our son is physically gone, we will go back to seeing him daily on Facetime and catching up at the end of his day. He is back in Germany before heading to Portugal for a weekly meeting, then a ten-day jaunt to Nigeria before landing in South Africa through the end of March. What a life, right? He is promising to come home this summer otherwise I think we will be heading overseas to visit him!
We celebrated his birthday this week with dinner last Sunday night at a South American restaurant (along with his brother and sister-in-law), Kazakhstan food on his birthday, and a Lebanese 8 course tasting menu on Thursday. Can you tell he is a foodie???
Heads up....there will be no Sunday Thymes next week. I am headed to Las Vegas for the Tastemaker conference (food bloggers) and to see the Winter Fancy Food Show. I am super excited and I can't wait to share what I find with you. If you follow along on Instagram you will see posts about the weekend.
Links And Products I Am Loving
- Our book club met this past week and they chose Book And Dagger by Elyse Graham. It is a non-fiction book about spies in WWII. We just finished Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout. Almost everyone loved it except those of us who had never read any of her books before. Apparently she carries her characters from book to book.
- Speaking of "best lists", have you seen the best places to go in 2025?
- How about the best movies of 2025?
- I decided that this year I would go back to journaling about gratitude on a daily basis. Do you do this? Do you have a journal that you love? I am using an app on my phone.
- I guess hubby is now considered a genius since the research shows that sarcasm makes you smarter, lol.
- How many kitchen tools have you replaced recently? This is a list of kitchen tools you should be replacing every year! I am currently working through replacing all of my spoons and spatulas since they are black. I saw that using these black utensils may cause cancer??? Geez. So I replaced my spoons with these. I am looking for a good spatula.
