It's just hilarious that Poppy slept like this for a couple of hours at our groomer! She must have been extremely tired as she jumped up onto a table and put her head down on the cleaning bottle.
What's Happening
Whenever I sit down to write this post I look back at the week and say "what happened and where did it go so fast?"
Construction is moving along. They put up the wallpaper and almost finished painting. The majority of the fixtures are installed. We are still waiting on a couple to arrive next week and one in December.
We are also waiting on the glass for the shower, carpeting, a wall unit, the wood floor to go in, and the closet to be restored. It's starting to look like mid-December before we are done.
I'm not gonna lie, it's been stressful. While I love my contractor, some of his guys just aren't moving as fast as they should have been. We expected to have been done by now.
Thanksgiving.....one of my friends asked me on Friday what I was planning on serving. I just laughed and said beyond the usual suspects I just don't know yet. I think I should do some planning this week so it's ready to go.
We are headed to Cabo for a wedding next Friday. There is a good chance I may not get this Sunday email out next weekend. We won't return until Monday night and then it's off to the races for Thanksgiving. We are hosting 8-10 this year. How about you?
Sam, my dour face cutie below, went in for his cancer update check-in. He's all clean, which is really nice, but he still hasn't recovered from the infection and sedation a couple of weeks ago. Instead of being a 10-year-old in a 14-year-old body, he's acting like an old man. He turns 15 in January. I really don't love this.
Do you have this brown sugar saver??? I bought one at Whole Foods and I'm giving it a try.

- I saw this pen holder on Amazon last week. I think it would also be amazing for your utensils when serving company or kitchen utensils as well.
- I have this portable food warming mat in my cart. This will be amazing for Thanksgiving!
- I wish I had this Skylight calendar when my kids were small but I'm thinking it would be nice even for the two of us.

- If you plan on living to 100, you need to make sure you eat the right foods after age 50!
- I finished the Ina Garten book. I highly recommend reading it!
- This is an award-winning kids toy that I highly recommend!
- I bought this toy for my 2-year old niece and she can't stop playing with it!
- If you are looking for help with your baking needs, this silicone baking mat is a real help.

Recipes
This week we had two new recipes. An appetizer with ricotta cheese and a gluten free corn casserole. The corn casserole is a take on the traditional "Jiffy" style but is great for those who need to be gluten free.
