Variations
These lamb burgers are very simple in their ingredients, but that doesn't mean you can't make them unique. Below are a few delicious add-ins and toppings to try out.
- Savory flavor: if you want to add savory flavor, make lamb burgers with feta by mixing some feta into the patties before you shape them, or add the cheese as a topping.
- Tzatziki sauce: If you are not a fan of tzatziki, you can use any condiment of choice like the Lemon Yogurt Sauce.
- Mint: If you like a lot of flavor, add some fresh mint to the burger either with the oregano or skip the oregano. Mint lamb burgers are delicious!
How To Make A Lamb Burger: Step-By-Step

Step 1: Dice the onion.

Step 2: Grate the zucchini.

Step 3: Combine all of the ingredients into a bowl. Form into the patties.

Step 4: Grill the lamb patties on a preheated grill until cooked through or heat a pan with olive oil and sauté them on both sides until cooked.
Pro Tips
- When portioning the burgers make sure to press the mixture into your hands firmly so that they hold together well. Likewise, shape the burgers to roughly the same thickness so that they cook evenly.
- Chop the onion very finely so that it doesn't take up too much space which would cause the burgers to crumble. If possible, let the grated zucchini sit in a strainer for 5 minutes to get some of the extra water out.

Serving Homemade Burgers:
- Omit the bun to make this gluten-free or low carb
- Serve it alongside a Greek Village Salad, or a Gluten Free Pasta Salad for a complete meal
- Toast the bun for an added crunch
- My husband adds potato chips onto his burger but doesn't tell anyone...
- Keep in mind that you can also serve them with pita bread in place of the bun for a fun twist.

Once the burgers are cooked and cooled, you can store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Reheat them on the grill over low heat or in the microwave.
You can freeze these burgers either raw or cooked. To freeze them raw, prepare the patties and separate them between layers of parchment paper before placing them in a plastic bag. For cooked patties, separate the patties with parchment so that they don't stick to each other. When you need the burgers, let them thaw in the refrigerator overnight and cook them fully or reheat them.
Ground lamb should be cooked until it reaches a temperature of 160F.

These were so good! I loved that the onion didn't overpower the lamb, and the zucchini made the burgers so juicy! We'll be making these again!
