Spending time with my 100 year old Aunt was absolutely fabulous!
What's Happening
Last week's email went out a bit early because we were traveling so I am giving you a bit more about the weekend in Detroit.
Friday night the younger cousins had dinner with my Aunt. She is 100 years old, for those who missed the last post, but she acts like a 70 year-old. She is amazing and we love her!
One of our kids traveled in to visit with her. He had spent a lot of time around her, and it had been at least 10 years or more since he last saw her. They both fell in love with each other and spent a lot of time talking that Friday evening. Now, that he is an adult, it was a lovefest.
While I have been there before, I took hubby and our son to the Motown Museum. It's a really fun place to visit if you are ever in Detroit. Our son didn't know much about early Motown music ("It's a generation thing Mom") but he enjoyed learning. He had a chance to see Michael Jackson's hat and glove which solidified his visit.
Saturday night was a large affair with her friends (yes, she still has a ton of friends many of whom are 10-30 years younger) and family. The entire weekend was spent catching up with cousins, some of whom came from California, Boston, and Atlanta.
Upon our return, I had a chance on Monday to catch up with another food blogger who lives in the Chicago area. We grabbed coffee and had a chance to talk for quite a while. She is amazing and has started a mastermind for bloggers as well as ways for us to meet and greet. It was so much fun!

- My cherry tomatoes even split and I had no idea what to do until I read this.
- I was actually stumped that these couldn't go in the dishwasher!

I am still working on a lot of pesto recipes! Next week I will have two new ones but these first two recipes are delicious with either the Homemade Basil Pesto recipe or the Pistachio Pesto.
Summer produce is at it's peak and I am loving both zucchini and eggplant recipes!
