This past week was a doozy but it was also a lot of fun! My last Sunday email was written just after my having to help our dog over the rainbow bridge and then jumping a plane for the East coast.
What's Happening
It was so nice spending time with friends last weekend. We were celebrating a baby shower for one of my friends daughters, Francesca. The above picture was taken at a restaurant where we had tea and lunch. The food was delicious and the company even better. We were missing Nicole, one of our "people" but I really needed the distraction and love.
Speaking of Francesca, she makes the best sourdough bread. She loved on us all weekend with sourdough focaccia, waffles, pretzels, and more. She even sent me a loaf so that when I returned home, I had it for dinner with homemade soup. Her sourdough is made from a really good starter, so the bread is gluten-free and edible for me! A picture of her pretzel is below.
I also had a good laugh. On Wednesday I received a package from the dog food company I had been using for Sam. It was a plant. The plant didn't make the trip so it felt like I had gotten a dead plant for a dead dog which was a weird feeling. I reached out to them and they are sending a new one.
I got back from the East coast on Sunday night and we had to pack up and leave the house for the remainder of the week. We couldn't stay in the house because they were staining the floor down the bedroom hallway. I did some work in the house during the day but Poppy got a vacay with a sitter for the week.
We are moving back into the bedroom this weekend and next week. Our bed is slated to arrive sometime this coming week as well. We are almost done. The Chicago skyline was gorgeous from our hotel room one morning but the temp was close to 0℉. Ugh.
Links And Products I Am Loving
- I am always looking for a new way to work out and move my body! I do belong to a gym but I haven't had time to go lately. This workout showed up on my YouTube feed and I am going to try it out! 30 minute pilates!
- When we are in NYC visiting our kids I love stopping into the MOMA gift shop. They have unique gifts for the holidays.
- My son in Germany loves to try and grow houseplants. I sent him this article about the best and hardest ones to grow.
- And since we are talking about my globetrotting son, these countries will pay you to move there! And, here are the most beautiful countries in the world.
- Are you a cheesehead?? We live close to the Wisconsin border so we consider ourselves to be honorary cheeseheads, lol. Here are the World's Best Cheese Awards.
- On my list to buy for the kids this year:
- We love these Frazier Fir candles and buy them every year.
- One of my kids likes to get Dazzle Dry Nail Polish so it's on my list each year. It's my favorite non-toxic polish that lasts and the base and top coat can be used with any nail polish you like. I'm allergic to most polishes to this company is the "bomb".
- I caved and bought my granddog a toy this year. It's also good for cats!
- I am looking at getting these Magnet toys for a niece.
- For my candy loving daughter and a puzzle lover, I'm looking at this puzzle.
