I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a nice shopping weekend! Christmas and Hanukkah is right around the corner. I can't believe it and I am soooo not ready. Are you?
I purposefully did not send out an email last weekend since I knew you were getting a lot of emails for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I did not want to inundate you with more mail.
What's Happening
I am writing this post early for a couple of reasons. I am headed out of town this weekend to visit my friends out East and to celebrate with one of their kids as they welcome a new baby in the spring.
The second reason is that we helped Sam, our oldest dog, cross over the rainbow bridge this week and I didn't think I could get the newsletter out after that happened.
Sam, right before Thanksgiving, rapidly declined. He spent a night in the vet hospital and it was determined that he had a form of Meningitis that wasn't curable. We did try meds for a week to see if it would help but it did not.
We are rescue parents. We rescue Tibetan Terriers and he came to us when he was 7 years old. He had been abused and started out as a really rough and tumble dog. With a lot of love and training he became the sweetest and most loveable animal. He is missed.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, we did host my daughter-in-law's family. Thankfully everyone was truly understanding and brought a good portion of the meal. And, thankfully we did get the use of our dining room the day before Thanksgiving. We had our mattresses and other things stored in there from the construction. We did have a nice time!
Construction. We are in the home stretch. The wood floor in our hallway went in and will be stained next week. The closet went in this week and the shower door were also installed. We could theoretically use the room; however, we need to be out of our house for 3 nights this coming week as the stain is being applied on the hallway floor.
If you said that there is a lot going on then you are right about that. I never made it to Mexico with hubby to celebrate our best friends daughter getting married because I stayed home with Sam. We all go through seasons and this is one of ours.

Being completely honest, given what has been happening in the house, I haven't felt like creating new content. I will get back to that next week but enjoy these recipes:
