It was a fun week!
What's Happening
The weather was really hot all week. I know I shouldn't complain, but in Chicago the summer weather is generally temperate. Our temps have been in the high 80's and 90's with high humidity.
I don't do well in humidity. I have stayed indoors more than I like and I just don't feel like doing much.
We caught two more raccoons this week. If you are keeping count, we are up to seven caught over the last three weeks. I think we are going to give up and be done.
One of our out-of-town kids was in town working this week. We went downtown and had dinner with three of our kids at a Turkish restaurant in their neighborhood. Our niece and her boyfriend also stopped by for dessert. Family fest, great food, and lots of laughs!
Yesterday we went to the farmer's market in the morning. It's our Saturday routine and one that we cherish weekly. The veggies are starting to come into season allowing us to cook more seasonally. We found blueberries and garlic scapes!
Our local kids came by with their dog to meet our new dog Walt and play for the afternoon. We ended up dog sitting through dinner, lol, as they had a couple of meetups with friends.

Links And Products I Am Loving
- We head to Hawaii once or twice a year. Hubby loves that he doesn't have to worry about mosquitoes; however, it looks like that may be changing.
- This article about swapping out your kitchen tools is spot on!
- I need to learn how to do this....
- 4th of July picnic table covers for when your company comes to celebrate!
- If you are like me and want to keep things clean, these straw cleaners are really cool.
- When we were in Colombia, the boat served these with cocktails in the evening. I am obsessed!
- If you love bread, gluten-free or regular, Wildgrain has the best delivery service. I bought this for my kids last Christmas and they kept the service going. Their favorite are the croissants!

If you have followed me for a while, you would know that I loved to use BeautyCounter as the products were clean. I am extremely allergic to many ingredients, so I am constantly searching for what is healthy, hypoallergenic, and non-toxic.
BeautyCounter was acquired over a year ago and went "dark" while they reorganized. The new company has finally launched, called Counter. It's the same great products with an even better philosophy towards ingredients.
I was a rep for BeautyCounter years ago, sharing it with my closest friends. I decided to become a rep again so I can share it with my friends and you.
If you would like to buy products and join the loyalty reward program here is the link to do so. If you are thinking of becoming a rep for Counter, here is the link for that as well.
Recipes
I have a few new recipes! All of these are perfect for any summer celebration. The salmon recipe is a staple recipe I serve for holidays and crowds. It's a stunner and so easy to prepare.
