This is the time of year when I go crazy for all the seasonal produce. At the farmers market this week we are starting to see cherries, strawberries, peaches, and apricots. Then there were beans, English peas, sweet onions, garlic scapes, and lots of herbs.
And can we talk about the peonies that are blooming???? Yay!

Father's day is next weekend! What are you doing to celebrate? We aren't planning much. Both of our fathers have passed away so I hope that we have the ability to see our son that lives in town.

What's Happening
As you can see from the above picture, we are still in cicadageddon.....my made up word.
This week has been fairly quiet, which I really love. We had the opportunity to celebrate one of our kids as he and his wife celebrated three years of marriage. Time flies. They were married, just as the Covid lockdown was starting to ease up, at our local botanic garden outdoors. It was a magical night.
I also became a Great Aunt again this week. My niece had her second baby girl. We are looking forward to meeting Layna! It feels so weird to say I am a "Great Aunt", lol....my Great Aunt is 98 and still living which makes this feel strange for me.
We finally had the opportunity to take a look at plans for the renovations we are doing in the house later this year. We were given three options and I will tell you that it is hard choice. Part of that choice involves a lot of change. Change is hard....
We spent Thursday night sitting outside and listening to a band play. A few of the surrounding towns have music evenings so we went with friends. It was really nice to be outside and chilling to some good music.
Speaking of music....last night we went to a James Taylor concert!!!! It was so much fun. I think we know all of his songs and my throat is sore from singing! My husband can't stop singing "You've Got A Friend In Me".

Recipes
I have one new salad recipe for you this week and an update to a spinach casserole that was on repeat when the kids lived at home. Both are super simple and can easily be made in advance. Plus, having a good grilled chicken recipe that is a "go-to" is a must!
