One of our sons is home visiting!
What's Happening
Yep! Our son, who lives in Germany, is home for the week! It is so nice to be able to physically hug him and talk to him in person. We actually talk to him daily through Facebook Video but having him home is another level altogether.
We only see him in person twice a year. He comes home over the holidays for a few weeks and then again for a week in the summer. He is a traveler. He has been to over 55 countries in his short 27 years.
He and hubby have been at the National Sports Collection Show for the last few days. They have been collecting baseball cards for years and love having a hobby that they are passionate about. I'm happy to stay home with the dogs, lol.
Speaking of dogs, we had quite a day on Thursday. I still haven't fully recovered. Poppy went in for a dental and when I brought her home the garage door wouldn't open. Walt was home by himself in the house and all the doors were locked.
Did I have a key hidden outside? Nope. Did I have a key on me or in the car? Nope. I thought three of my neighbors had keys. It turned out only two have keys and one was out of town.
Once my neighbor returned home, about 30 minutes after I texted her, I was able to get into the house only to have Walt do an escape out the front door. That set off a chase. He didn't get far but it was harrowing enough.
I lost a leash but found it later in the day laying in the front yard. I also discovered the fence in our backyard needs to be repaired when Walt almost escaped again. It was quite a day!
Our Chicago kids came out on Friday and stayed overnight to be with our other son and we had fun with the full house.
