What's Happening
I can finally say that we finished all of the construction from last fall. The blinds for the master bedroom have been installed. We are excited to be done, but we are starting to think through what the next phase will look like this year, lol.
It was a busy week and I am not really sure where the time went. We had a lot of appointments for stuff to get done around the house. We had an outside chair picked up to be recovered, scheduled a grill to be cleaned, took the dog back to the vet, had our windows cleaned and our fence looked at, etc.
I worked as much as I could in between everything else. The dogs did not cooperate as much as I would have liked, sigh. I love them but the neediness this week was a lot to handle.
This past weekend was more of the same. Dinner with our cousins, dinner with friends, the farmers market, and chores.

Links And Products I Am Loving
- I am always on the hunt for pantry staples, and in Chicago it is easy to find most if not all ingredients. Some of these ingredients I use in my everyday cooking, like preserved lemons. I use them as part of a dressing for the Arugula Quinoa Salad With Roasted Zucchini and the Quinoa Beet Salad with Pistachios and Goat Cheese.
- Did you know that you should store nuts in the fridge??? Wow, new to me. I did know that putting bananas in the fridge slows down ripening.
- This ice cream is in my cart! Plus, the name is so cute!
- I bought celery at the farmers market and it wilted in one day. Do you know how to store celery so it stays crisp???
- It's summer and the kids are now home. Here are few ideas of cute things that your kids and family will love:
- These cotton swim towel robes are adorable!
- Snackle boxes for kids are a must.
- These are in my cart. I think they would be so helpful any time you grill and have company.
- Here are a few Father's Day ideas!
- A muscle massager! My hubby loves his!
- The best tool for internal meat temperatures. This is the one we use.
- Whiskey Smoker Kit! If my son had a grill this would be his "heaven".
- A delicious olive oil that will work wonderfully on any of his creations.
Recipes
I worked through filming of several new recipes, of which two will be on the site next week. This Lemon Yogurt Sauce is new on the site and is my go-to with roasted veggies and grilled meat or fish. It is a staple.
