This week flew by. I'm not really sure where the time went!
What's Happening
This week was a bit busy. Between working at my computer, recipe testing, and finishing up decorating from the construction last fall, I am not really sure where the time went.
I was able to meet a friend for brunch earlier this week. It was so nice to spend some time catching up and I love when we get together. She marched for International Women's Day yesterday and I love that she is passionate about her beliefs.
I went from there to meeting up with my decorator and purchasing lamps, finally, for our bedroom. Our bedroom window shades, duvets, and lamps are hand-me-downs from parents or the previous owners of our home (32 years ago). While they have stood the test of time (40+ years), it is time to make it our own. I also worked on picking out new window coverings this week and I'm waiting, not so patiently, for the duvet to arrive.
I am in full swing of recipe testing for Passover/Easter and that is much of what you are currently seeing on the blog. I will be back to regular programming the week after next.
I made to Pilates this week and also to the gym! I feel like I won the lottery and wish I could do this every week!
And, how cute is the coffee cup? This is from Scooter's Coffee. Their theme is all about being "amazing" and I love the positive energy they give. Have you tried Scooter's?
Links And Products I Am Loving
- For those of you that live in a colder climate like we do, this is the last frost date. We always plan on starting our garden somewhere around mid-May but you might be able to get started earlier!
- Have you seen this viral trick for cooking bacon? I always use the oven but this is really simple!
- I have used Souper Cubes for years. I am not someone who loves leftovers so saving portions of leftovers in the freezer and being able to pull them out when I need them has been a nice "trick". I then started using them when Sam, our old dog, needed to have a blended meal of real food because of kidney disease. I would make his food and use Souper Cubes to store it in the refrigerator or freezer, depending on how much I made. I also have used it to store herbs at the end of the summer. The owners of Souper Cubes lost their home in the LA fires and have been working out of temporary housing. I really feel for them. While you can purchase these on Amazon, I do know that purchasing direct through their website is better for them.
- I am on the hunt for a new sponge holder for our sink. Hubby broke our this week. It's not easy to find one that has a drain in the bottom but I reached out to a gal on Etsy who makes them and I'm waiting for her to finish glazing them. In the meantime, I found this cool soap dispenser on Amazon that I have in my cart!
- Speaking of other "gizmo's" that are pretty cool, this pot strainer is also in my cart along with this knife brush!
Recipes
This week I published a guide on dark chocolate along with two gluten-free chocolate desserts perfect for Passover or Easter. In order to balance all the sweet, lol, I am also sharing chicken recipes that are easy to make during the week or are simple enough to make for company. Enjoy!
