What's Happening

This week is devoted to my Aunt Cis. She turned 100 years old on Friday. That is quite a milestone event!

She is the older sister of my Dad. My Dad passed when he was 64 years young when our twin sons were just 4 months old. My Dad and my Aunt were close and my Aunt continued to be close to my Mom after Dad's passing.

Aunt Cis lives in Detroit so her five kids, my first cousins, decided to throw her a birthday party. We drove to Detroit on Friday and are heading home today. The picture of her was from her 98th birthday!

It was really nice seeing my cousins and spending time catching up. I have 8 first cousins that are still living. Several of my second cousins were also there as well as my brother, sister-in-law, and my niece. Being around family is the best!

The picture below of my cousins with me and my brother was taken about 20 years ago. We haven't changed all that much, lol.

While we had events to go to on Friday and Saturday evening, we also had a chance to go to the Motown Museum. I have been there before but it was fun to go back with hubby and one of our sons, who flew in for the party.

Speaking of this son, I have to applaud him for making the effort to visit with his Great Aunt and distant cousins. He has taken an interest in Ancestry.com and looking into his heritage. Boy did he hear stories, lol! (I'm not throwing the others under the bus, lol. One lives in Germany and the other had his best friends wedding.)

I am in a pesto phase as you will see by the recipes. Some are new, some are updated, and some are just too good not to share. I hope you enjoy them.

Since Walt was on the loose last week, I decided I needed to buy an apple air tag holder for his collar. This was a suggestion by my daughter-in-law and I think it's a good one until he is fully trained!
Bon Appetit came out with the Best Soda Makers. I love sparkling water so I will have to consider buying one of these.
These are our favorite kitchen scrubbers!
And then, I saw these storage hacks that make food last longer. Hmmm....
Since we traveled this weekend I needed to know which stall should always be the cleanest at a restroom!
Hubby loves his chai tea andthis brand is his favorite. We order it all the time.
Where are my mint chocolate chip fans? This flavor happens to be a favorite of mine. I can't wait until the winter to have a peppermint mocha for example. Here is a good taste test of mint chocolate chip ice creams!
