Brush both sides of the pita bread with olive oil.
Top the pita with salt and za'atar seasoning or any other seasoning of choice.
Bake for 15 minutes or until crispy.
Notes
Brush both sides of the pita with olive oil to help the chips crisp evenly and develop better flavor while baking. During testing, thicker pita breads held up best and stayed crisp longer after cooling. Keep a close eye on the chips during the last few minutes of baking since thinner pita can brown quickly around the edges.Za’atar adds a savory, herby flavor that makes these Homemade Pita Chips feel a little more special than standard baked chips, but you can easily swap in sesame seeds, everything seasoning, garlic powder, or smoked paprika depending on what you are serving alongside them.Store the pita chips in a tightly sealed container at room temperature for up to 3 days. If they soften slightly, place them back into a warm oven for a few minutes to crisp them up again.
