Your favorite flavors are made into the best kind of no-bake treat! These Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie treats are full of indulgent flavor, gluten-free, and come with a crispy, gooey texture with each bite.
Brown the butter in a large pot until it begins to smell nutty and has turned a golden brown.
Stir in the peanut butter and the sweetened condensed milk, mixing until smooth and combined.
Stir in the marshmallows to the peanut butter mixture and continue to stir as they melt. Once melted, remove the pot from the heat.
Immediately stir in the Rice Krispie cereal and mix until everything is sticky and coated.
Pour the marshmallow mixture onto either a greased baking dish or one that has parchment paper on the bottom. Smooth it out into an even layer.
In a small pot, add the oil and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Over low heat, stir until melted and smooth.
Pour the melted chocolate mixture over top of the Rice Krispie bars and let the dish sit in the refrigerator for an hour to set.Serve immediately or cut and store them in the fridge.
Notes
Coat your spatula with either cooking spray or oil before mixing in the marshmallows. This will prevent the spatula from sticking. Use parchment paper in your baking pan to prevent the treats from sticking to the pan. Feel free to be creative with toppings by adding more chips, sprinkles or even nuts! Rice Krispie treats can be stored in the refrigerator or at room temperature. At room temperature, the squares will be soft and almost gooey, whereas when stored in the refrigerator, they are more firm and chewy.
