Lamb Burger with Zucchini and Onions Recipe

A tasty and healthy ground lamb burger that gets more flavor from adding onion and zucchini to the mixture. This also helps to extend the amount of ground lamb available. While this recipe calls for ¼ pound burgers, I always have preferred ⅓ pound as there is more to dig into when eating with a bun.

Ingredients

Ingredients for the burger:

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • ½ whole onion chopped in small pieces, about a ½ C
  • ½ whole medium zucchini peeled and grated, about a ½ C
  • 1 ½ t garlic powder
  • 2 t dried oregano
  • S & P to taste

Extra ingredients:

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the lamb, grated zucchini, chopped onion, and spices. Combine and divide into 4 patties. Grill the patties or saute' them in a pan with some olive oil until completely done. Place them on a bun and add the Tzatziki Sauce, tomato, and lettuce.

Notes

I divide my burgers in 3 patties not four. It's just a personal preference to have a slightly larger burger. You can add the condiments of your choice but I love Tzatziki Sauce! I don't always eat this with a bun and it's wonderful on it's own for lunch.
