Super Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups sugar
  • ½ lb butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 t baking soda
  • ½ t salt
  • 1 cups sour cream
  • 2 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 10 oz chocolate chips
  • 2 ½ cups mashed ripe bananas

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease two loaf pans. Cream the butter and sugar with a mixer on medium speed. Add the eggs one at a time. Set aside. Combine the flour, salt, and baking soda. Add small amounts of  these dry ingredients to the egg mixture, alternating with the sour cream. Add the vanilla, chocolate chips, and banana. Combine. Divide the batter and place the batter into the two loaf pans evenly. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until golden and baked through. Cool on a rack.

  • Chocolate: Always a fun switch up, opt for white chocolate chips instead of dark chocolate, use milk chocolate chips, or use mini chocolate chips in place of the semi-sweet chips. 
  • Peanut butter: Add a ½ cup of smooth peanut butter to make peanut butter banana bread. 
  • Cinnamon: Add 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to amp up the flavor.
